KICORA (Kigoma Community College by Radio), education by radio for the populations of Kigoma

Tags: education, information, civil society, radio, prejudice

«The objective of KICORA is to give a second chance of education, starting from the primary school level, to the many people in Kigoma who, for different reasons that include poverty and diseases, missed their first opportunity to register in formal school programs when they were young.»

«The project of Deo takes roots in a sad experience; at the height of a civil war in his country Deo is jailed. Then he is released with no trial after a year in custody. In the jail he develops the idea of a school where people would learn about responsible citizenship. After his release he goes to Belgium where he creates KICORA.»
